Goal: This 90-minute program is intended to present information on the advantages of strong science in EMS education and potential consequences of transferring knowledge and skills without evidence.
Objectives: Upon conclusion of this program, each participant will be able to:
1) Define evidence-based practice (EBP) and clinical expertise;
2) List the 5-step process for evaluation and quality in EVB.
3) Describe the PICO method in asking EVB questions and potential sources
for answers;
4) Discuss classroom techniques and student exercises in EVB;
5) Discuss case studies where transfer of knowledge occurred with and without EVB with community and state-wide consequences.
